Botox is a product that we inject into muscles to treat lines and wrinkles on the face. It works by temporarily relaxing the muscles, stopping any contacting movements that happen when we make facial expressions. You should start getting Botox before Wrinkles become static. This is when they are visible without making facial expressions, which leads to the expression, better prevention than a cure. Botox will only soften static wrinkles, however it will prevent them from getting deeper, or getting any more. Depending on your age and genetics you should typically get Botox every three to six months. Botox typically lasts up to four months

Dermal fillers are an injectable gel like product containing hyaluronic acid, to enhance or add volume to areas of the face. Fillers can also be used to treat unwanted lines. How much filler you will need depends on the area to be treated and the individual themselves. Usually 1ml is more than enough for the lips and lines, however you may need between 2 and 4mls to treat the cheeks and jawline. Some clients prefer subtle changes and don't want other people to notice so they rather we build upon, for example they may like to have 1ml in their cheeks, 0.5ml per side and just get a few sessions 4 weeks apart until they are happy. We can plump and shape the lips to create a more youthful and enhanced look by using a soft filler to add volume and definition. You may want us to create a sharper cupids bow or a rounder bottom lip or you might just want an overall plump. Filler can also be added to other areas to shape and contour, for example, the cheeks and chin are often filled to balance the profile of the face, and the jawline is most commonly filled to create a defined and slimmer side appearance. A Client may lack volume due to weight loss or aging, therefore we can use a thicker viscosity Filler to help lift or pull the skin, taking away any heaviness from the lower facial area. Chin filler can be used for indentations or to elongate a flat or square shaped chin and we can also correct an unevenly shaped nose by lifting the tip or filling in bumps. The hollows of the eyes known as the tear throughs can be corrected using a specific filler, containing reflective properties than not only fill the hollows, but lighten the dark area under the eyes. The nasolabial folds also known as smile lines can be filled to smooths out any lines. These lines are usually formed from loss of volume and not just smiling, therefore you might benefit in having your cheeks treated at the same time. marionette lines form from the corners of your mouth, creating a down turn that can look like a sad face. we can use filler to correct these lines. Sometimes other treatments can work in hand with filler. Botox or a skin booter is often used alongside filler for optimal results. we can create beautiful symmetry in a perfect colour to suit you.

Skin boosters are made up of a very high concentrate of hyaluronic acid, overall aiding in hydration and elasticity. Clients find they are losing laxity in their skin and begin to see what we call dehydration lines. The skin can go on to look crepy a bit like an orange peel. As we age our skin naturally loses the ability to produce as much hyaluronic acid as we would like, therefore having skin boosters such as profhilo or Lumi pro can really help with aging skin. Sun bed users often have dehydration lines or crepy looking skin and benefit massively from having a few sessions of skin booster. It is recommended that you have at least 2 sessions four weeks apart for best results, as it takes time to buld up HA in the skin.

Temporary redness, swelling, bruising or itching at site of injection; in the case of lip augmentation, there may be considerable swelling for a few days. If you have a history of cold sores and are having lip augmentation, the procedure may cause the cold sores to break out again (the chances of this happening can be reduced by taking anti-viral medication). Headaches after Botox can happen in the first week, this is due to your muscles trying to contact when making facial expressions, however this will soon ware off. You may wish to take a paracetamol. Rare side effects to look out for Allergic reactions are possible but not common. Some palpable material may be felt at the site of injection- tends to be temporary and rarely visible. Infection at the site. More serious but very rare side effects include blistering at the site, formation of granulomas and superficial necrosis.

Avoid touching the areas for 6 hours No makeup for a minimum of 8 hours Avoid exercise for 24 hour Avoid alcohol for 24 hours Avoid heat (hot showers, bath, sauna, steam & sun) 24 hours No sunbeds for 14 days If tender or swelling apply cold compress Arnica tablets/cream help bruising Avoid flying for 48 hours Avoid any other facial treatments for at least 7 days, always check with practitioner If clients suffer from cold sores, lip treatments may trigger a flare-up. You can ask your pharmacist for a course of anti viral medication for prevention a week before. Stay elevated for 4 hours after having Botox.
